Wolji Pond, Gyeongju, South Korea

We wandered over to here through Gyeongju enjoying the sights, and when we arrived it must have been a break as the ladies selling tickets were surprised to see us! We watched a video about Donggung Palace, in blissful air-conditioning, before wandering around the site.

Unfortunately nothing of the Palace is still there but the pond was beautifully serene.

We wondered there wasn't more people also visiting, but we passed the next day in the evening and barely recognised it! Lots of tourists milling around the area, plus food trucks, so definitely more of an evening spot.Læs mere
