Day 23

Today we decided to explore a small town near Recife called Olinda based on our flight attendants recommendation yesterday. About 30 mins from Recife it is a small colonial town with more colourful buildings and pretty architecture. Due to the heat yesterday we didn’t check the forecast so when it started raining we were a bit surprised and hid in a cafe for some brunch. Thankfully it cleared up and we wandered around the cobbled streets taking it all in. We were shocked by how empty it was. No tourists and barely any locals. Considering this is one of THE things to do it was bizzare! It was really beautiful and we also had a walk along the sea front but there really wasn’t much to do. So we headed back to Recife to walk through the markets once more. Feeling a bit hot and tired after a few hours we headed back to our hostel to grab some dinner and chill out. Feel like we’ve done Recife now! It’s not really a “do” place more of a walk around and get the vibe which has been nice. We have an overnight bus tomorrow to Fortaleza so our plan is to hopefully spend the day at the beach!Leggi altro
