Tony Kenyon was a man who stood comfortably in 2 worlds from 1938- 3002. He was strong in his culture & highly respected as a great worker & sportsman. He worked as a stockman & croc shooter in his younger days, & later a tradesman for Darwin City Council. He was a great family man. He’d sit around a campfire four hours telling stories & passing on his knowledge to his sons. He & his wife Joan adopted a number of children & worked hard to ensure they maintained their culture & links with the land . Joan Kenyon is the last living elder of the Wulna people . She married Tony in 1963 & was his Partener in all he did. She loves hunting, fishing & regularly takes the children out bush, passing on her great knowledge of bush foods.Read more
