A full day explore Geneva. We took the train into town and walked towards Bains des Paquis to admire the views across the lake and get a quick coffee before getting the water take M3 across the lake to Plage des Eaux-Vives where the locals often swim and plot on the beach. Took a stroll back towards Jet d'Eau where you can walk right out to the fountain.
Next was a stop at Halle de Rive indoor market. This place was great and worth a visit. We sat and had a beverage and grabbed lunch here. So many food options to choose from.
A recommendation was to visit chocolate shop Bonbonnaire. I could spend all day in here. Lovely desserts and choice of chocolate.
We then strolled through the old town towards the catherdral through Place du Bourg de Four where we found the hidden stairway that took us to the Catherdral. Unfortunately it was closed so no walking the stairs to the top.
As Maison Tavel was pretty much opposite so we took a look inside the historic building which houses a museum that documents the history of the city.
During the afternoon we walked towards the famous Jardin Anglais where you can normally find the flower clock but they are preparing for the Euro Womens football 2025 display so not quite blooming but can see the cut out women football player where the flowers will flourish. Whilst we were down there we took a look at the marathon tent as this weekend was Geneva marathon.
Finally we headed to Les Armures for dinner. Another recommendation. Glad we booked. A restaurant that has seen many famous faces and one I would definitely visit again. Found in the old town through the cobbled streets. A must is to try the Fondue!
