Arrived at Niriata airport, had to get a train to Ueno Station and then to the hotel. I can't check in till 3.00. I may have also gotten lost but a lovely little lady helped me and me walked back to station and paid for my ticket💖 I got off a station to early and wondered around for an hour🙄 we know I love a scenic tour😂
Wandered around the markets till 3.00, then checked in. Met my roomy Lynley, who is from Melbourne and around my age.Read more

Tokyo- Asakusa & Shibuya

Started at 8.00am, train to Asakusa to visit Sensoji temple. The back on the train to Shibuya, from there we saw the busiest intersection and then walked to Meiji Jingu Shrine. We wandered the basement shops with so much amazing food, even refrigerated lockers to put you food in while you did other things. Back to the hotel for rest and off to dinner.Read more

Kawane

This was our Farm stay day, we started the day at 7.00 to leave from Tokyo to go to Kawane.
We had to get 3 trains and a bus to get there and arrived at 12.10 for lunch at a Soba noodle restaurant 😋
Then it was a 20 minute walk to a Tea Plantation for a Green Tea tasting experience.
Then our host family picked us up, took us to walk a suspension bridge and see the Cherry Blossoms, then home 🏡
We struggled with communication as our lovely little lady didn't speak English but she knew how to use goggle translate. So the conversation was interesting.Read more

Numazu to Kyoto

Late start today, we didn't have to meetings till 8.50am 😊
More trains 🚆 from Numazu to Kyoto Statwhere we had lunch, I had Beef Ofal Hot pot and it was delish.
Then another train to the hotel near Nishiki Markets.
We checked in, and my new roomy is Atefeh.
Then we were off to the markets, I wondered around there for a couple of hours on my own and then went to a little Dumpling restaurant near the hotel for dinner.
It has rained all day, so we have a full day tomorrow to fit in everything as we could do some outdoor stuff today.Read more

Kawane, Mishima & Numazu

Early start again, had to be at the bus by 7.15am.
Breakfast made by our little host and then off to the bus.
Then 2 trains to Mishima and then a bus to tge Skywalk to see Mt Fuji
It was very cold and then it started raining but we got to walk the Skywalk before it rained.
We then headed back to Mishima by bus, then a train to Numazu to stay the night.
We had drinks in the lobby restaurant at 5.00 and tried Saki for the first time and it won't be the last, I loved it.
We dinner at a restaurant that no one spoke enand we had to rely on goggle to order, it took a bit bit we managed to get food and beer in the end.Read more

Umenohana Restaurant was amazing so it deserved its own entry.
It is a Tofu restaurant that serves Yuba, which is the Tofu skin.

The started a 9.00 and we were off to Fushimi Inari-Taisha Temple, Sake Brewery Visit & Tasting and the to Gion to learn about Maikos & Geishas.
Tonight we are off to a traditional style meal at a Yuba restaurant for an 8 course meal.
The day was busy and wet, it rained for the most part of the morning but fined up after lunch.
After walking up a million stairs at the Inari temple, Lynley and I had coffee in a cute little Cafe and lunch I had Okonomiaki for a street stall.
The Sake brewery was great and the sake tasting was so good, I have bought 2 small bottles 😊
The Gion district was interesting and we learnt a lot about the traditions of the Geisha and Maikos.

Kyoto to Osaka

Up early to get the train to Osaka.
The dat started with Pork Buns at Osaka train station and then it was off to drop our bags at the Hotel.
Then the food tour started , we walked through the markets of Osaka's and, Doutonbori street.
We ate Octopus filled balls in a waffle type taco shell, Roasted Sweet potato & Crisps, White Strawberries, Tsukigesha (little sweet Buns filled with a bean paste custard), and a juice mixed with milk.
Then we were off to Osaka Castle 🏰
Back to the Hotel to check in and change for dinner at all you can eat and drink at a Yakatori barRead more

Osaka

Today is the Tour finishes and everyone is heading separate directions, some are heading to the airport to go home others are continuing their holiday in Japan.
I have woken up with vertigo so don't feel very well and have spend the day in Osaka till 8.15pm till my bus leaves fir Hakuba.
I get a late checkout till 1.00pm so I can rest and then I get a taxi to where my bus will leave from in Namba so I know where I have to go later.
I wonder around Namba station, have a nice lunch and wait for Kiarna and Ethan to arrive from Tokyo.
Meanwhile Jason is proposing to Tahlia with a backdrop of Mt Fuji, such a special moment 💖💍
Kiarna & Ethan pick me up and we get the train to their Airbnb, drop their luggage of then head back to Namba to put me on the bus. Next stop Hakuba at 6.20amRead more

Hakuba

Overnight Snow bus to Hakuba was great, slept most of the way and arrived at 6.20am.
Acacia is still at Mt Fiji with Tahlia so I need to find her house and my room.
I finally found the house and call Kiarna to make sure I was in the right place because Acacia didn't answer her phone🤦‍♀️
I dropped bags off and went for breakfast a place down the road called Hotel Evo.
I walked around checking the place out for a couple of hours, then back to Acacia's to lie down for a while.
I went out later to Lawson's convenience store and bought a Pork and Rice bowl for dinner.
Acacia didn't get home till after I went to bed.Read more

Snow Monkey Tour

Today I off on a tour to see the Snow Monkeys in the mountains.
Then we went Obuse fir a traditional Japanese restaurant for a Hot pot and to Sensoji Temple
Then back to Hakuba and dinner made by Acacia, a Salmon & Prawn Poke bowl 🥣 😋
