RAAF Boab Quarry

After leaving Ngumban Cliff we called in at the Boab Quarry for morning tea. It was such a special spot, we decided to stay the night. The Quarry was excavated to build the airstrip at Curtin RAAF base at Derby. The water must be spring fed, it is cold but very refreshing on a hot West Kimberley winters day. The rocks surrounding this man made "gorge" are magnificent with steep walls and caves scattered throughout the surrounding rocks.Read more
