Lovely, if not long, drive to Milford today. Amazing scenery up near Homer tunnel. I don't think any photograph could truly represent the visual images. The hills/ mountains are so steep and high. Difficult to stop and take photos anyway as all the good opportunities were where the no stopping/avalanche/rock fall areas were. A highlight was the drive through the Homer tunnel and the cheeky least that appeared from nowhere when we stopped for clearance to go through the tunnel. I must admit thiugh that I was pleased to get out the other side of the tunnel. Photograph and video credits go to co-pilot and navigator Anne. I couldn't take ant photographs and drive and there were only a few opportunities to stop.
Penguins seemed to have trouble following our route. Not surprising as there is no mobile phone reception for about the last 30 km.Read more
