    Ryanair Boeing 737-800 in pouring rain..and a 90 min delay due to weather and air traffic restrictions..travel is difficult..as things hardly ever go to plan..I got to my accommodation in Athens at around midnight..and had to be up early..circadian rhythms trashed....again😔Read more

    Up at 0400..to go to Piraeas to catch the ferry..so..limited photos..just the station at Syntagma..and the coffee in Piraeas..things should improve from now on🙂

    Blue Star Mykonos is my ferry for today’s 11 + hour crossing of the Aegean and Cyclades to Samos…there are so many vessels here..but its at gate E7..and was easily found…a travel day ahead of me..but a sundeck is all that’s needed..and WiFi😎.Read more

    An improved arrival time here… despite the ferry being late..what an Aegean sunset..to welcome me onto the island of Samos..only the night here..I’m tired😴

    ..why have I only got 2 full days here..granddaughter Florence’s birthday....that’s why😘..I had planned to go over into Turkey 🇹🇷 on Sunday..but time is against me..so 2 days hiking it is then..and dinner out this evening..already my last night..😔Read more

    I left Samos and got the bus to the airport..sitting outside in the sun..the first I knew my flight had been delayed was when someone mentioned it there..the TUI flight hadn’t made it out as the Captain fell ill..it went from delayed..to delayed more..to
    cancelled..we were bussed to various hotels to spend the night..that’s the next footprint..and there’s a twist☺️    Read more

    A luxury adults only Boutique hotel on Samos..crikey..I’ve been to some smart hotels in my time..this is up there..lunch..dinner and overnight..all courtesy of TUI..fallen

    Just as I’m settled in..had lunch..and on the sunbed with a beer..we get told TUI have found a pilot..and we must check out at 5 pm to go back to the airport..well..what a disappointment..the shortest I’ve stayed over in a hotel..5 luxury hours. Oh well….got back to London Gatwick at 10 pm..last train to York had left..stuck overnight at the airport☹️..and that..concludes this trip..could’ve ended better😔Read more
