  • Airport in Eugene

    June 13, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 50 °F

Beaver is taking in the sights. He's always happy to travel and thinks the security tunnel he gets to go through is not only fun, but tickles too.

  • Denver Airport

    June 13, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 64 °F

Hanging out before our next flight.

Interesting story to tell about our flight. Will update when I can use my keyboard later.

So the flight from Eugene to Denver, Brenda and I got to our seats with the window seat empty. We knew that the flight was full so we were expecting someone. When the lady arrived, she said that we could just slide over and she would take the aisle. I said, "That's ok, we will get up and you can get in." Especially since Brenda needs the aisle for her restless leg issues.

She had a giant bag with her that she put in the corner. She then proceeded to walk on the seats rather than use the space in front. She let us know that she would often need to get up and use the bathroom, so that we weren't allowed to complain.

She then left her stuff and went to the back of the plane to go use the bathroom.

While gone, the lady across the aisle from us, said we handled that well and was impressed that we didn't just move over and let the woman have her way.

At the time, there were two empty seats next to her and I said I'd be willing to trade passengers, sight unseen :-) She said "No way!"

Well, after a bit, a very nice older lady comes by and points to our window seat and says that is where she is sitting. We said, that someone else was already there and we would have to check. About that same time, the other lady returned and sure enough, the seat walker was in the wrong spot, she was actually in the window across from us, sitting in the same row as the other lady.

I handed the lady her stuff so she wouldn't have a chance to walk on the seats again, and when she was going to her actual seat, the aisle lady requested that she NOT walk on the seats, as she didn't bring an extra change of clothes and didn't want her clothes getting dirty from the footprints.

The lady went to her seat and actually never left it during the trip.

The older lady that sat next to us didn't ever leave her seat either, so everyone had a nice flight :-)

The landing was a bit bouncy in Denver, but not too bad.

During the flight I watched the first half of Justice League, and finished the second half on the flight to PA.

  • Morning Walk

    June 14, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

Went for a nice walk this morning. Found this park. The insect pic is for Fay's enjoyment. It's going to be a nice day, but a bit humid.

  • Graduation morning

    June 15, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 68 °F

Having a nice big breakfast. But beforehand fun playing with their cat, KC. He wasn’t done playing and wanted us to get the toy back from over the cabinet.

  • Sunny Graduation

    June 15, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

Nice sunny day for the event. Bit hot until sun would hide behind clouds.

Graduation went fine and we had a nice visit in the evening.

As an added bonus we saw some fireflies!!

  • Disc golf @ Sellersville

    June 16, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 75 °F

Beautiful park. Liam, Steve, David, Dave and I played. Did just fine. Played from amateur tees. Not too crowded. Brenda did awesome getting a couple nice birdies!!

This really was a nice course. Was the first time that I have tried to score all 5 people and do all the details of the throws that the updated UDisc program allows. Was glad that Steve has played the course before so he could navigate while I blindly walked and punched in scores between holes. Even after getting the hang of it, it still takes a while to do.

Brenda played awesome. Her drives were solid and her approach shots excellent. Some of her drives were good enough that she had some easy birdies. Quite impressive.

My game was in pretty good form for the day too. The tee pads were quite a bit shorter than what we are used to, and not poured concrete, more large stones put together, so could not get the full run up and crush the shots. Thankfully we didn't need to crush them all the time. Lots of nice touch approach shots. There was a small creek that crossed around the holes every once in a while, and I tended to throw into it when I had the chance :-)

Luckily, the water was less than an inch deep, so never had to worry about getting all that wet.

Steve did lose one of his discs though. An early released forehand cost him by heading into the center of a small pond. No real good way to get it, so we had to leave it behind. If anything, it's a great excuse to go to the disc golf store!

A few of us went to Scents and Sips to make candles and lotions. You design your own scents. I created a candle called French Toast and Mulled Cider and lotion called Mango Vanilla Delight.

  • Father's Day Morning

    June 17, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

    Another nice day!

Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there.

We're spending the day relaxing about for a while before we check out a Disc Golf store and check out a short 9 hole course.

Last night we got to see even MORE fireflies, so that was a lot of fun :-)Read more

  • D Town Disc golf

    June 17, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Bought a Lat 64 Factory Second Vision
    8 6 -1 2 for the numbers.

Pretty nice store. Lots of selections, but sadly, not nearly as many light discs (lucid air) trilogy discs that we might have been looking for.

They also didn't have any Elasto / Frost / Fluid discs that I was hoping to check out.

No used discs either, so the only "cheap" discs were the factory seconds.

Tim and Andree have been doing great with their Vision discs, so when I saw one for super cheap, I had to snag it!

  • Plains Park Disc Golf

    June 17, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 88 °F

This was a really tough little 9 hole course. The holes aren't super long, but they are quite tight in the woods. Multiple holes are of the variety that you just have to throw and hope.

Tee pads are just bare dirt, and the brush thankfully isn't too thick. Some mud in spots and lots of flying critters, but no other people playing, so was easy to play a relaxed round.

No birdies for me, but I was more playing "course management" to try and get as many pars as I could.

Brenda struggled at times, but it was quite a bit hotter and throwing full out was nearly impossible.

No really noteworthy shots, but I was happy with some of my drives sneaking through the trees :-)

+2 for 9 holes isn't as good as the Even after 18 from the day befo;-re, but it felt like a good accomplishment :-)

  • Monday

    June 18, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Things winding down. People will be heading home, trickling out a few per day.

Brenda's Mom and Dave leave today. Hopefully their trip home goes smoothly.

  • Movie time!

    June 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 79 °F

    Watching Incredibles 2.

Tightwad Tuesdays, where the ticket price is cheaper than a large soda.

  • Disc Golf Field Practice

    June 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 84 °F

    Practice in the park.

Weather was rather warm and humid. We were lucky that we could throw from a shaded area into the sunlight, so it saved us from getting too toasty.

Brenda did some filming with her phone and Coaches Eye so we could see all the things we are doing wrong :-)

Things are getting better with the throws, but we still have a long ways to go to get 300+ all the time with our drives.

Brenda has been having good success with the faster drivers as of late. She's liking the Katana, and I think I will keep an eye out for an Air Trespass to add to her growing collection.

I tried out the Vision, and it's a really good disc. Might have it in the bag for a bit to see if I can find the right times to use it. My Glow TieDye Escape is currently filling the role that the Vision would be used for.

  • Pizza date night

    June 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 81 °F

  • Doylestown Walk

    June 19, 2018 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 77 °F

Such a nice night for a walk. Temp was a bit lower and the humidity was down. Walked around historic DoylesTown and took in the sights.

Fireflies were out in full force tonight, and Brenda managed to get a picture where three of them went off at the same time. She did have to circle them on the picture, but it's worth it :-)

Really nice way to wrap up the trip. We hope to get some good rest for our long day tomorrow.

Already checked in for the flight, so that should help.

I'll charge up the phone and see if I can use it all day as I'll have my boarding pass on it as well as entertainment stuff.

Should be a good movie or two to watch on the way home.

Until then, we will catch you in the morning!
