Day 6 - 1st Volcanic Adventure

1st full day in Chester, and after a fine sausage, egg and bacon breakfast masterminded by Alex, we hop in the cars to drive to Lassen Volcanic National Park.
Amy, feeling unwell, tests positive for COVID, and so stays at home...
After a quick stop at the visitor centre to see the Park educational video, we head to Bumpass Hell Pass.
A 30 minute hike takes us to this lunar like volcanic area, with sulphur and steam in the air.
The altitude makes for a breathless hike back to the carpark, and we stop on the way to look at and swim in (kids only) a glacial lake.
We return to Chester to find Amy feeling better for a day of rest, and after Jon, Alex and Will check out the local golf course bar, and Amy and Zoe head out for a walk, we end our day with an amazing steak BBQ....Læs mere
