Day 25 - An Bang Beach

Nice, low key breakfast, and then another pool morning.
Then on to the bus to get to An Bang for an afternoon on the beach. Bought some nice necklaces for Betsy and Amy and wooden bead bracelets for Dylan and Dad.
Massage for the family, beer for Dad while waiting!
Back to the hotel then dinner at local Lantern restaurantEn savoir plus

Day 26 - Hoi An

Circular boating trip in the coconut forest after breakfast.
Only 10 mins cycle away, but very hot!
An hour on the boats was great fun - good scenery, interesting way to travel, crab catching, boat spinning and loud music.
Then in to Hoi An for Amy and Betsy to make some traditional lanterns.
Boys shopping and exploring trip interrupted by crazy rain (beer and chicken wings to the rescue)
Then in to see the famous night time lanterns of Hoi An, a bit of shopping, and a nice dinnerEn savoir plus

Day 27 - Hoi An

Vietnamese cooking day....
Up for early breakfast and then taxi in to Hoi An.
After a welcome drink we explore the main market - veg, fruit, herbs, meat, and souvenirs! And finally fish (and crabs) by the riverside.

Then on to the boat to travel up river to the Red Bridge cooking school.

Quick lap of the herb garden, and then in to cooking zone. Great combo of watching, listening and trying ourselves!

Spring rolls, noodles, salad and chicken hotpot.

Then in to the restaurant to eat what we had created ( with a little extra from the chef)

Stop in the restaurant pool for Dad, Betsy and Dylan. Then all with more sunbathing time back at Zest.

Off to An Bang beach for a fun evening at Soul Kitchen (https://maps.app.goo.gl/CX9V6u6ZCTSvuVcn9) with good music, card games and good food ( and a cocktail or two)En savoir plus

Day 28 - Hoi An - last day

Pool and foot massage in the morning, and then we cycled to one of the closer beaches for lunch (https://maps.app.goo.gl/Z52dj9h7syRvQNxdA)
Not as busy or atmospheric as An Bang, but nice lunch either way.
Back for a few more hours by the pool then back to Hoi An for the last time for a wander, a drink (at the Market Bar) and a Thai meal.

Farewell to Zest as we begin the trip back to Hanoi after breakfast.
2 taxis and a flight later we arrive at the Beryl Signature hotel which will do very nicely for the next couple of nights.
Another old town wander including a visit to the Temple on the lake, and then a cocktail bar with a great view of the city.
Dinner at Madam Tran restaurant. Busy place with buzzy atmosphere and good food (Amy & Will shared chicken and catfish)En savoir plus

Wandered around in the heat including a walk across a bridge full of moped drivers coming towards us. Such extreme heat we had to go and sit down in an air conditioned train station for a while! Then trip to the war museum via ‘tiny cafe’ for some cold drinks. Will and Dylan walked there but Amy, Jake & Betsy were too hot so took a taxi with air con!
War museum was interesting- learnt how resilient and tenacious the Vietnamese were in all their fighting.
Dinner at a restaurant called Duongs which was lovely - bun cha, pho and spring rolls plus very expensive salmon for Amy.En savoir plus
