    Cannon Beach Wowed Us!

    June 9, 2019 in the United States ⋅ 🌫 14 °C

Now that we were finally at the ocean we could slow our pace and enjoy the moment. And there were many special moments today. We started at Cannon Beach which, in 2013, was named “one of the 100 most beautiful places in the world” by National Geographic and I can see why. We parked at Tolovana State Recreation Area for easy access to the beach, which was massive with light, fine sand. This is the home of Haystack Rock that rises 235 feet out of the sand and is a protected marine garden. We arrived at low tide and the tide pools were teeming with sea life. It was exciting to see all the colourful creatures even if we didn’t always know what we were looking at! There were several volunteers available to protect the area and answer any questions.Read more
