    The sights of Mumbai

    Well, today, we planned to jump on the tour bus for the day and sight see as much of Mumbai as we could. However, our tummy's decided otherwise, haha.

    By lunchtime, it had settled, and we contacted our transfer driver who sent us a wonderful man who drove us around for 2 hrs south of Mumbai.
    He explained all the sights,

    Mumbai was originally called Bombay and colonised by the Portuguese, in 1665, on the marriage of Catherine of Braganza to King Charles II of England, it was given to the British Crown as part of the future queen's dowry.

    The Gateway of India is an arch-monument completed in 1924 on the waterfront of Mumbai (Bombay), India. It was erected to commemorate the landing of King Emperor George V and Empress Queen Mary.

    Because of the British rule, there are so many wonderful colonial buildings. From India's independence in 1947, saw them reclaim the land, and in 1995, rename to Mumbai to honour the Maratha heritage.
