    14 czerwca, Australia ⋅ ⛅ 7 °C

It was a relaxing morning and then decided to go for a little walk and then was on the other side of the river, so I decided to keep waking all the way around...... beautiful parklands, open walking/bike paths.
Finished off with a swim in heated pool and steam room.

Finally reach Geraldton and had to see the gorgeous Saint Francis Xavier Cathedral and finish the day off, before the rain and wind hit, with the HMAS Sydney memorial.
Our home for the night, a car park.... which I thought was going to be a bit dodge but it was recommended through the camping app and was great, we were the only ones there, haha. Czytaj więcej

    19 czerwca, Australia ⋅ ☁️ 18 °C

Rained through the night again but the morning was glorious and walked along beach, stood next to some very friendly pelicans
Bought coffee n scroll from bluff cafe to eat at Hawkes Head, which is a part of kalbarri National Park. Didn't eat as it was raining, so enjoyed that whilst driving.  Also did the Ross Graham walk.

Could not believe just how much rubbish along the sides of the highway,  glass, plastic bottles, really sad to see people littering.
Stopped at Billabong service station  - refuelled, pretty much only place with phone reception
Stopped at wooramel / gladstone lookout - put drone up - phone reception on top of lookout and at Ampol servo before coral bay
    - past 26th parallel
    - Past tropic of capricorn
Booked campervan site at Bayview park coral bay
Made meatball spaghetti bolagnaise for dinner accompanied with a lovely glass of red!!

  • Coral Bay to Exmouth

    20 czerwca, Australia ⋅ ☀️ 19 °C

Started my morning with a coffee from the bakery, which was very good, walked along the beach of yet another gorgeous sleepy coastal town, although full of tourists felt relaxed and friendly.
Cooked breakfast at campsite before relocating our home closer to the beach, walked over the sand dune to a beautiful reef 50m off shoreline. Snorkelled the reef with sting rays and reef fish of all colours. I tried to use an water proof pouch for my phone to take photos, but it didn't work too well for me.... need more practice with that.
Coral has been damaged by cyclone, which then had an algea outbreak, which will take around 10 years to return to original status.
The midges/sand flies were really bad, and I had to spray myself down at the beach before going in the water.
We then drove to Exmout and checked into RAC cape holiday park, fantastic amenities.
Of course, we had to stop at the golf course for a ball and score card, haha.
Late afternoon, we went to Viamingh Lighthouse for sunset,  missed it mostly due to being overcast.
Cooked dinner at camp kitchen and ate back at van, surrounded by mozzie candles and sandlewood sticks.
Had an amazing hot shower at amenities. It's amazing the small things we miss and love the most.

So very blessed to swim alongside them... no, I didn't take these pictures, hahaha. I wish my camera and I were that good!!! Czytaj więcej
