• Vršič Pass

    June 20, 2023 in Slovenia ⋅ ⛅ 14 °C

Test-shoot at Vršič | first stop an old Russian Chapel, Ruska kapelica, located on the “Russian Road” on the northern side of the Vršič Pass in northwestern Slovenia. The chapel, dedicated to Saint Vladimir, was built 1916 by Russian prisoners of war engaged in forced labor in the area during World War I. It serves as a war memorial and the link of Slovenia to russian history.

After we drove up to the parking of the Vršič Pass, a high mountain pass across the Julian Alps in northwestern Slovenia. It is the highest pass in Slovenia, with an elevation of 1,611 metres (5,285 ft), on the border between Italy and former Yugoslavia.

Weather was great but incredible windy while capturing the surroundings where Daja fled to the West in the early 1980s. Props to my DoP July just conquering the weather 🥹🙏

Afterwards we gathered at the lively Dom nearby enjoying local food and schnaps served in interesting little glasses (👀)
