Getting ready for the summit

The next morning, we woke up to thick fog blanketing Kredarica. The peaks we had admired the day before had disappeared into a soft, endless grey. Still, spirits were high — today was summit day.

We wake up early, gathering gear, checking headlamps, lacing boots with hands that moved familiarly, almost ritually. The atmosphere was part expedition, part celebration — serious, but full of a kind of quiet pride.
