    Elephant Sanctuary

    July 5, 2023 in Thailand ⋅ ☁️ 30 °C

Stirling: Today, we went to an Elephant Sanctuary close to our hotel. When we got there they gave us 4 large buckets of fruit, 2 watermelon and 2 bananas. We were then led to a feeding station where 2 Asian elephants eagerly ate the fruit from our hands. Later, we got to stroke the elephants while the guide told us some facts about them, like elephants only sweat through their toe nails. We also fed them some very large pumkins too. Next the elephants were to a large pool to bathe and cool off, followed by a mud bath. A good time was had by all.

Christine: When we got back to the hotel, we had a very long play in the pool and sang Christmas songs with an Australian girl called Edie and a boy called Hugo. We were so busy we didn't even think about lunch until 3pm when we all went and ate in a nearby cafe. When we got back Ross had a bit of an accident. As he tells it, he had a fight with a crocodile. But it was an inflatable crocodile. And he lost. We all snuggled in bed and listened to radio 4.
