  • Rambla del Raval

    We first take a walk along the Rambla del Raval to see the famous Botero's cat sculpture. A nice large walking area full of small ethnic shops all around.

  • Mercat de la Boqueria

    Walking on the Rambla we stopped at this covered market. It's full of colours and odors from the various stands selling all kinds of local foods, from fruits to fish to the famous jamon Serrano. A lovely place and a really nice experience. We can't resist the temptation so we also got some local tortillas!Read more

  • Placa de Catalunya

    Walking north from the Rambla we arrived in the huge Placa de Catalunya. The place is full of people and even more pigeons! Beautiful statues and buildings all around create a nice atmosphere... We crossed the sea of pigeons to our next stop!Read more

  • Casa Mila (la Pedrera)

    We walked passeg the Gracia up to Casa Mila, one of the famous houses built by Gaudi. Unfortunately, this one is closed now for maintenance so we only could look from the outside. Still a fascinating piece of architecture and worth a stop.Read more

    We booked an evening tour of Casa Battlò that allowed us to visit the house after closing time with light installations and some additional features. The light installations give the house an extra amazing touch. The interior is fascinating and the mix of lights and the audio story contributed to the magical atmosphere. The various rooms of the house become alive while you are captured by the colours and lights.Read more

  • Fish frenzy at Puertecillo

    For dinner we chose Puertecillo, an informal place where you order fresh fish and mussels directly from the ice... It's then cooked and served directly. Super fresh and super tasty!

    The main entrance for tourists is located at the Nativity Side. This side represents scenes from the Nativity story and wants to represent life, joy and hope. The entire facade is full of natural symbols and statues representing moments of the Nativity story.Read more

    The construction of the church is now in an advanced state, so you can now fully appreciate the inner space. Huge colourful windows are placed all along the main direction, creating stunning light effects. The whole church is built to resemble a forest creating a magic and mystic atmosphere.Read more

  • Sagrada familia - Passion side

    The exit of the tour is on the Passion side, where the passion and death of Jesus are represented. This side is completely different from the Nativity one and wants to resemble hard suffering. The entire facade looks like bones as intended by Gaudi originally. It's amazing how this building melts together different styles and sensations.Read more

    To close the 2nd day we decided to try a classic of Barcelona: paella! For this we chose the le 7 Portes restaurant. A nice elegant atmosphere and a delicious paella with a glass of sangria on the side. A tasty way to close the day!Read more

    This day we decided to take it slowly... We walked up a little late and enjoyed a tasty brunch just near the hotel before going on with our exploration of the city.

  • Montjuic Castle

    The weather is rainy today, but we don't let this stop us. Using the metro and cable car we reached the top of montjuic to see the beautiful city view and the castle. We decided not to pay the fee to enter so we took a nice walk all around. Rain created a peculiar atmosphere with many nice views.Read more

    We decided to take a walk down the Montjuic to return to the cable car station. We went through a nice park and a complex fountain. Even if it was not active, we could imagine it as wonderful in the summer. The walk offered us some more beautiful views of the city.Read more

  • A walk along Barcellona seaside

    In the afternoon we took the metro to the most distant point of the Barcellona seaside walk. From there we took a long walk back to the city center to experience the sensations of the winter sea and a different part of the city. Beaches and modern buildings form a unique mix along this 6km path.Read more

    At the end of our long walk, we stopped to rest at this peculiar bar. Located near the Rambla the interior reproduces a magic forest where you can have a drink surrounded by trees, leaves and magic sounds. A good sangria is a perfect complement to this amazing place!Read more

  • Dinner @ Bodega Biarritz

    For our last dinner in Barcellona we chose Bodega Biarritz a really cool place located near Placa Reial. It Is renowned for great tapas and we were not disappointed. They offered to have dinner outside in a small niche closed by tents... In the end it was a fantastic experience with tasty food and drinks! Perfect to close our stay in Barcelona.Read more
