Parco di Miramare

Our second day in Trieste is dedicated to the visit of Miramare Castle and its park. The green park around the castle and next to the sea is really fascinating despite the rainy weather.

We continued our visit of the castle rooms and completed the tour by walking down to the small harbour.

Castello di S.Giusto

The castle is next to the war memorial and a nice example of medieval and Renaissance fortification. The site evolved during the centuries into the present shape without being involved in any majorもっと詳しく

Anfiteatro romano

Going back from the castle to the city center we had a quick stop at the Roman amphitheatre. The structure is a well conserved ancient amphitheatre not far from the city center
Lunch stop

For lunch we opted for a quick bite with typical products in the local Christmas markets. We tried the Jota soup and a couple of small breads with local large anchovies. Both really tasty!
Banksy exhibition
