    Monkeys run free all around the lodge and they are happy to pose for some photos for the curious tourists like us! It is amazing to be immersed in nature from the very beginning.

    In the afternoon we finally arrived at our accommodation for the first night in Arusha. It's a fantastic lodge hotel with nice small houses surrounded by local nature and animals. A wonderful experience to start our journey.Read more

  • Arusha rainforest

    Our adventure starts with a walk in the Arusha rainforest. We saw a few forest monkeys and the wild environment of the forest with tall huge trees and strange vegetation. Even if we couldn't see many animals, we had a first touch of wild nature and its risks. Watch out for the forest ants. They are small but they bite!Read more

    After the walk, we met with our guide, packed everything in the jeep and drove towards Tarangire park, the first stop of the safari. Along the road we saw the landscape changing into savana and we passed through local towns and villages full of life and animated by local markets.Read more

  • Tarangire first experience

    Tarangire park is the first stop in our safari. After passing the park gates, we opened our jeep roof and immediately fell immersed in the wild nature. The savana and its animals welcomed us. We can start feeling the African spirit, something that makes you excited and relaxed at the same time. An amazing start!Read more

  • Tarangire first day - sun & zebras

    The first animals to welcome us in Tarangire were zebras. They are all around us, eating, running, or walking just near the car. Some of them just stare at you, maybe curious as you are to see am exotic animal.Read more

  • Maweninga tent camp

    We spent the night at Maweninga tent camp. An amazing place, and our first glamping experience. The tent was cozy and comfortable, and the camp has a terrace with an amazing view of the sunset. A fantastic place, sleeping immersed in nature is a recharging experience.Read more

    Tarangire park has a reputation for elephants and it's not long before we saw some on our second day at the park. It's an amazing experience seeing these magnificent animals walking near you. Ignoring your presence they get along casually and you can see them in their natural behaviour.Read more

  • The elephant pool in tarangire

    Driving across the park we spotted a group of elephants. Getting closer we discovered a hidden pool of water. Water means life in Africa and we discovered an amazing place where many elephants got along near the water to drink and rest. Being close to these amazing animals while they play, drink and live together is a unique experience!Read more

  • More animals in Tarangire

    Tarangire is famous for elephants, but there are plenty of other animals as well, like zebras, antilope, gazelles and gnus. Just moving freely around the park they cross your path or hang out near your car.Read more

  • Giraffes come close

    We saw giraffes around before, but this time they came close to us for a nice picture. Another fantastic experience seeing these magnificent animals so close, looking at you with curious eyes. They move slowly around following the "pole pole" philosophy of Africa.Read more

  • Close to the elephant

    Just at the side of the road a huge majestic elephant looks at us while slowly chewing on some fresh grass. This was a close look to this animal and another great emotion of this tour.

  • Panoramic lunch time with baboons

    The lunch was served in a nice lodge with a terrace giving you an amazing view all around. We had some rest and a tasty meal. Before jumping on our car again some baboons decided to join the group and appeared in the trees around the car park.Read more

  • Face to face with elephant

    Another close encounter with a magnificent elephant. This one was just a few meters away from our care, calmly eating some grass. Meanwhile a small group and a family crossed the street and continued on their journey while we were amazed to look at them.Read more

    The second park in our plan is Ngoro Ngoro, an old volcanic crater that is now a plain full of grass and animals. One of the few places where you can see rhinos. We reached the entrance in the morning, excited and ready to explore!Read more

  • Descending into Ngoro Ngoro crater

    Passing the gate, we started our descent into the Ngoro Ngoro crater. The first part of the road goes through a foggy forest, creating a fascinating atmosphere and then the view opens on the crater plains below. Few animals look at you from the road side as you move past them. Our amazing adventure continues!Read more

  • Our first lion

    Entering Ngoro Ngoro we spotted a lion sitting on a rock in a majestic pose... It was quite far away looking down at the valley, checking on his territory. A good sign as we start looking for animals!

    After crossing the pass we descended in the plains of Ngoro Ngoro crater. This is a relatively closed environment and house of the rare rhino. The landscape changes again turning from forest to plain and water pools. A very special place to visit.Read more

  • Spotting the rhinos

    Spotting the rhinos is difficult, they are shy and usually avoid people and noises. We were lucky to see a couple of them, even if from a long distance... You can barely see them in the pictures, but they are there! So the blessing of the rhino is on us!Read more

  • Birds on the ngoro ngoro lake

    Along the tour we passed close to the lake sitting in the ngoro ngoro crater. This source of water makes this area a unique environment and house of many water birds, like the pink flamingo.
