    Our visit to Turin starts with Palazzo Reale the old main residence of kings in Turin. We took a tour across the many rooms open to visitors rich in original furniture and unique antique pieces. The palace now hosts some interesting collections and exhibitions.Read more

  • Gardens of Palazzo Reale

    After visiting the palace, we took a walk around the gardens. Some areas were closed for renovation, but still we could enjoy some relaxation in the shadows. The gardens are a quiet and relaxing place to re-charge before continuing our visit.Read more

  • The old chain cabin to Superga

    Next stop in our tour is the Superga church. To get to the top of the hill where the church is located, we took the old chain cabin. The historical cabins are very well preserved and the whole journey creates a special nostalgic atmosphere.Read more

    We finally reached the Basilica of Superga a stunning building on the top of the hill used as a church and family crypt for the Savoia family. The view on the city is amazing and the building itself is worth a visit inside to admire the tombs adorned by finely crafted statues.Read more

    We concluded our visit by climbing up 130 stairs to the panoramic view point on the Basilica dome. From there we had an amazing view of the whole city of Turin below. A selfie was inevitable!

    We chose La Piola Sabauda for our first dinner in Turin. A small restaurant serving delicious local recipes. We tried some specialties, namely Bagna Cauda and Finanziera. A good place to rest a bit and enjoy great food.Read more

    A must stop in Turin. The local Egyptian Museum hosts the second largest collection after Cairo. We took a guided tour of 1.5h that immersed us in the fascinating Egyptian history while walking through the amazing pieces of the collection. From room to the other one can admire perfectly conserved remainings of this ancient civilization.Read more

  • Quick bite @ Mulafsano

    After the Egyptian Museum we moved close to the Mole for our next visit, but before we had a quick stop at Mulafsano. This is an historical place popular for delicious tramezzino. The name is well deserved and even if it was only a quick bite, it was a great experience!Read more

    In the afternoon, we first booked a ticket for the mole elevator that quickly got you to the top of the dome. From the top, the view is amazing with an all around look at the city and the mountains surrounding the area.Read more

    After the panoramic view, we visited the amazing cinema museum created inside the Mole. The museum tells the story of cinema, from the very first studies on motion images to modern digital effects. Moving through the museum areas one can have a look at many amazing historic equipment and collectibles.Read more

    Part of the museum is dedicated to a gallery full of collectibles and memorabilia from popular Hollywood movies. All the iconic classics are represented, from Forrest Gump to Indiana Jones and Star Wars. Moving through the corridor around the dome one passes from one iconic movie to another ... A fantastic experience for any fan of cinema.Read more

  • Caffè San Carlo

    Before dinner, we stopped for some rest at Caffè S.Carlo. This is an historic café in the city center that serves some good food and cocktails. The interior resembles the old history of kings and the once main role of the city as capital of the kingdom. The atmosphere and the drinks were great and we enjoyed our moment of relaxation before dinner.Read more

    We stopped for breakfast at Farmacia del Cambio, an elegant pastry shop in Piazza Carignano. They are popular for their breakfast selection shaped as cube and sphere. Even if we arrived late, we were lucky and we got the last remaining piece of these delicious treats!Read more
