    Honningsvag 71 deg N

    July 8, 2018 in Norway ⋅ ⛅ 12 °C

Today is the last full day on the boat. The weather has improved with blue sky and fleecy white clouds. We stopped at Honningsvag which is 71 deg N and noted that the temperature was 11 deg C thanks to the Gulf Stream.
Honningsvag is a beautiful fishing village with a large breakwater. The houses are painted different colours and all seem to be three stories high with little space between them. Perhaps this is to make travel between houses easier in winter.
We did a leisurely stroll around to the lighthouse and back. The high mountains in the background are magnificent. A lot of the buildings have snow protection on them.
The cruise has been enjoyed by all of us. The scenery has been spectacular and the food has been of high quality with many choices. Tomorrow we move onto Copenhagen.
