Swan Lake

We left St. Mary around 9am and began our trip west. We actually followed what the TRUCKER gps ap I have says to drive and made it up and over the pass w/no issues. Also, redd discovered a trick to slow the engine w/o pressing the brakes so much. Thank God.

We made a pit stop in Columbia Falls because I had "pressing" work. Gotta cure that cancer. 🙄While I did that, Redd went and got us some coffee.

Off we went towards Swan Lkae. We arrived at the Swan Lake Trading Post campground around 1pm. There was no check-in. Our name was on a whiteboard with our site number. When I reserved, I said we had 1 slide on the driver's side. The jerks in the spot next to us have their awning stretched out the whole way. We can not put out our slide w/o hitting their awning. Good damn thing, I don't *need* to put out my slide put to access the kitchen and bathroom like some rvs. It's aggravating, and it was a tight fit. Good thing redd can maneuver this thing.

We hooked up everything and put on the a/c. It is pretty hot. The high today was 95. That's some 💩. Then we headed back to Kalispell because we had to get our paddleboard certified for Montana waters, and we had to buy a conservation license. It only cost Ethan 2.00. It cost us 40.00

We hit up this Army/Navy surplus store that was having a Buy 3 get 1 free of the good brand wool socks and we stopped off at a Goodwill where I got a Columbia rain jacket that I'll use for hiking for 5.00. That's a $70 jacket! This was a fantastic GW. Things were sorted.....BY SIZE and not color like in Lafayette.

Redd had picked out 2 brewpubs in Kalispell to try. The 1st 1, Patriot American Brewing was really good. The 2nd one, Flathead Lake Brewing, was not good, and their food was meh. But they had a nice view of the lake.

Tomorrow, we plan to paddle Swan Lake. If all goes well, we may come back and bring the dogs later in the afternoon, but I doubt it. The rec area was pretty busy when we passed by around 630pm.Læs mere
