Camino 2023

    Left from Santiso 8 am arrived in ai Santiago at 1 pm.
    We've met up with a couple of ladies who are doing the Northern Camino so we will follow them. 😄 After a while, we ended back on the Frances, who would believe it. What an experience.
    A misty wet day, quite similar to our first day on the Camino. It was an easy walk as we just followed all the other pilgrims in.

    Santiago - end of the Camino

    We have arrived. The rain stopped long enough to get our photo taken in front of the cathedral, and then it rained for the rest of the day.
    We are in a lovely Albergue where we have a curtain in front of our bunk for privacy. The head room between the bunks is fabulous, I don't keep hitting my head.Baca lagi

    Santiago

    It was a beautiful sunny day almost too hot to walk around Santiago. It was wonderful just to be free to wonder in and out of the side streets off the way road. Went for a ride on the tourist train, our 5th one on this trip. Also found a couple of fabric shops. We found a food market that reminded me of the Melbourne one.Baca lagi

    Madrid

    Easy walk to the Santiago train station at 6.30 am. The train was on time. Along the journey, all the power went out, so the lights and TV went out, and the train stopped. We were beginning to think we might be bused, but the power returned, and the rest of the journey was uneventful.
    It is extremely hot in Madrid, and as we are in a suburb and not in the centre, we had a walk around the block and kept on the shaded side of the street.
    The photos are of our walk around the block from our hotel. We have a Superior room, it's a large room, just what we need to spread all of stuff out and pack everything away for the trip home.    Baca lagi

    Dubai Airport

    2 Oktober 2023, Emiriah Arab Bersatu ⋅ 🌙 29 °C

    Arrived in Dubai as our connection was taking off.
    We sat in the plane for 4 hours before it took off.
    Because we have missed all of our 3 connections, we will be on a direct flight home. Providing everything runs to plan, we will arrive home 2 hours earlier than originally scheduled. It's just a 7 hour wait now. Fingers and toes crossed.Baca lagi
