    Esher

    Temperature: 11 degrees this morning and a high of 12 degrees this afternoon.

    Today, we went to Hampton Court Palace. What a wonderful place to visit and how the time flew. The palace is huge, and we were up and down stairs frequently. Inside the palace, it was quite dark. We enjoyed having the audio to explain the different parts and what went on.

    Esher/London

    Temperature: 11 degrees this morning in Esher and a high of 12 degrees in London this afternoon.

    Went out for our normal morning walk before catching train and Underground to have one last quick nose around V&A before heading to Kensington Palace. As we were trying to get to the palace, we got caught up in a downpour, we tried to shelter under a tree with no leaves until we saw two policemen standing under a shelter outside the Israeli Consulate, so we headed straight to them. They were very kind and let us share their small shelter.
    Huge queue to get into Kensington Palace. I must say we both preferred Hampton Court Palace.
    By the time we had finished in the palace, it was fine, so we enjoyed a leisurely stroll to our accommodation at the VSC. It is still very much a Lebanese area with not many English speaking folk, felt very much out of place. We are close to Marble Arch.
    Tonight we went to a local pub for dinner and as it wasn't raining then walked around Portman Park.    Read more

    Marble Arch, London

    Temperature: 9 degrees here this morning with a high of 9 degrees.
    Today, we walked through Hyde Park and St James Park to go to Buckingham Palace to see the changing of the guard. Anyone would think it was the weekend because even though we arrived really early, we couldn't get to where the change would be, so we decided to head up The Mall and watch them march down. We found a great spot, so that was good. From there, we walked to Fortun and Masons as I had never been inside. Thoroughly enjoyed looking around there, it was amazing. From there, we caught the underground to have one more look at Covent Garden, but it was packed. We had a delicious hot chocolate at Hotel Chocolat before using the underground to get us to Marble Arch. It was a full-on day, and we absolutely loved our cup of tea once we arrived back at the VSC.
    We stayed in tonight and had at the club.    Read more

    London/Esher

    Temperature: A cool 8 degrees here in London this morning. A high of 11 degrees in Esher this afternoon.

    Today we walked from Marble Arch to Buckingham Palace where we joined a short queue at the Queens Gallery to see the Holbein Exhibition.
    It was amazing. From there, we walked up the Birdcage Walk to Waterloo Station to catch the afternoon train back to Esher.
    It was a cool, wet, miserable day.    Read more
