I'm all about the adrenaline. So i love the thrill of dubious airbnb bets. but it doesn't always pay off. Arrived at 1am after the 6h plane delay and got stood up by the host. Тоugh luck!! But the driver was super nice and drove us around to find another hotel. But it was Chinese New Years. Double tough luck. Found a room after a couple hours (it's in the next post) of door knocking. In many ways, this first experience was very representative of the polarizing encounters with Filipinos - one minute you'd be dealing with a drunk, gambling, fighting rooster raising, cat-calling miserable asshole, the other you'd be completely taken aback by stangers with boundless kindness and altruism, going far beyond was most mothers would do for their own children (not mine though, mine's the best).

But the ants!!! The ants!They are everywhere!!

And in general I must say that all Philippines accommodations feel like Soviet "санаторий".Read more
