    Located on a green hill near the sea, Dublin Castle was used between the years 1922-1171 as the seat of the representatives of the British Government and the United Kingdom, the office of the British Secretary General of Ireland, the assembly point of the courts and the Irish parliament and even a military base. Its central location allows it to be seen from almost anywhere in the city, indicating its importance in Irish history to the present day.
