    On 20231107 with Ryanair flight FR2507 from Barcelona (BCN) back to Cologne/Bonn (CGN). Departure: 11:50. Arrival: 14:10. Total price for two people (hand luggage only, 8kg) 77,98€. Booked on 20230525 via Ryanair.com.

    Day 7 [Tuesday]: By taxi (31,50€) to the airport. Pass through baggage and ticket control. Arrived very early, so a long wait. Trying to get some sleep at Burger King. Anneke went to order coffee, no receipt came, but the amount had been debited. We went to pick up the order and had to laugh again because it came in a very small cup. Gate U36. After landing in Cologne/Bonn we took the train RE6 to Duisburg Central Station. Via Oberhausen with RE19 track 9 via Bochelt, Wesel to Arnhem. Due to disruption/construction work, we had to get off at Emmerich and then transfer to the train to Arnhem. Fortunately, Paul picked us up by car in Emmerich around 8 PM.     Day 8 [Wednesday]: I had to arrange some business (banking and having passport photos taken) and we visited Michael, Susan and Mila. Only Mila was not sick with the flu. Before the visit we went to the Kronenburg shopping center. I had passport photos taken and Anneke and I got a last Corona injection at the GGD and we also went to Albert Heijn and Wibra. When we got home we ate a delicious mini potatoes with herb butter flavor with mayonnaise and pea soup with pieces of sausage in it. Then it was time for the bedroom. I was so tired that Anneke also packed my suitcase. I fell asleep.Read more

    From Dusseldorf to Antalya

    On 20231109 back again to Türkiye with SunExpress. Flight XQ 185. Departure time (DUS) 13:35. Arrival time (AYT) 19:15. Booked on 20231009 via Sunexpress.com. Price 91,98€ (incl. hand luggage and 25kg checked baggage).

    Day 9 [Thursday]: Up very early this morning. Weighed the suitcase and put all the important things in my jacket pockets and hand luggage. Sat on the couch for a while and then left by car for Düsseldorf. First we refueled across the border. Had a traffic jam (Stau), but that also went well. Check in to drop off suitcase at counters 235-238. No one was there yet. Said goodbye to Anneke (parking here costs 8€ per hour!) and now I have to wait again. I was able to deliver my suitcase at 11:10 AM and went on to gate C31. I did my own passport inspection and then gained access to the tax-free section (bottle of water 3,80€, but also 2€, had to give up my water during the x-ray check). The end of beautiful period.
