Echuca - Swan Hill - Walpeup

Grabbed a coffee in Echuca and left town early heading towards Swan Hill.

Made an impromptu stop at Lake Boga after we saw there was a museum called ‘Home of the Catalina’ (one of Sid’s favourite aircraft) the kids had fun dressing up in airforce gear and posing for photos as well as exploring the communications bunker nearby. We had no idea there was such a large military installation there during WWII (v.interesting).

At Swan Hill we went straight to ‘Pioneer Settlement’ (somewhere I visited in primary school) for lunch and a few hours exploring. Enjoyed all the ye olde buildings & machinery, car ride, horse carriage ride, rope making & treats at the general store.

Arrived at Walpeup around 5pm. Good value roadside stop/caravan park - $10 for the night. Starting to feel like the proper west now. Big skies & dusty red soil. Tomorrow we enter SA.Read more
