    Airport Race and Wait

    June 16, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ☀️ 82 °F

Headed out around 3 pm after watching the last episode of The Offer. Found out on the way, our flight was delayed until 6:20…. Carol got frisked. Then we got some food. Currently it’s 4:30. No one has killed each other yet, hahaha….hah. The day is yet long.

Our flight got delayed three times even to the point we deplaned. I believe LaGuardia might have shut down But we got going finally going and two hours later-Boston!

  • Boston and Embarkation

    June 17, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 77 °F

Gram froze to death last night after telling us she was too hot at bedtime. I believe she has thawed. :)

We were scheduled to embark from 11-11:30. We called for a taxi but it took almost an hour to arrive, so we were a bit late. Not a problem. We were all set on the ship around 1. We had lunch at O’sheehan’s where the waiter got me and Kyrie sodas even though Gram is the only one with soda privileges. Edward is my new hero. Rooms were ready a short time later. The rooms adjoin and each is stunning. Lots more room than we were expecting. Won trivia after most took a nap.Read more

  • Bermuda! Day 1

    June 19, 2022 in Bermuda ⋅ ☀️ 75 °F

Too many people at breakfast! But we have docked at Bermuda! We will be staying in this area today near King’s Wharf in the Royal Navy Dockyard.

Went to the clock tower area and walked quite a bit. I was still puny so we took the train tram back to the ship. Rained for a bit right after we got back. Later after a nap, we went to the craft market…not that impressive, sadly.

Back to ship again for dinner at Oshee’hans. Yay I ate soup! After that we chilled. I got a bit I’d my appetite back so mom and I got me food at the cafeteria around 9. Greg and Kyrie smuggled cookies a bit later.

Hoping to hit the sea glass Beach tomorrow.

  • Glass Beach Hike

    June 20, 2022 in Bermuda ⋅ ⛅ 72 °F

Today we went to the Glass beach first this morning we took a taxi and then walked back on a very nice trail that gave us even better views of where we have been. After that Kyrie, Greg, and I went down to snorkel beach but They were going to charge everybody who is going $15. Nope. So Kyrie and I took the tram back to the boat while Greg went to look to see if they store had any crazy shirts. We had lunch and then also did arts and crafts with Gram. We made cord holders.Read more

  • Horseshoe Bay

    June 20, 2022 in Bermuda ⋅ ☁️ 75 °F

After a little rest and watching Miss congeniality we decided we needed to try to see some of the pink beaches. We found a taxi with a very nice driver named Ze who took us to Horseshoe Bay. I found a nice shade spot to sit and Kyrie and I found a cave and up we went. Then back to the ship.Read more

  • Bermuda Day 3 - Crystal Caves

    June 21, 2022 in Bermuda ⋅ ⛅ 73 °F

Up super early to go on our excursion to Crystal Caves and Clearwater Beach. Very cool experience. Our driver was fun but drove fast and had no problem rubbing bumpers with narrow street walls.

We got to snorkeling and just chill out in the best weather ever. We took a ferry back across from St. George’s to the Royal Navy Dockyard. That night Kyrie watched Dune and actually liked it. In bed early.Read more

  • Sea Day 2

    June 22, 2022, North Atlantic Ocean ⋅ ⛅ 55 °F

Today we were at sea again. Participated in lots of games with the cruise staff like Trivia (to keep us humble) and Where Are We Going and Tri-Bond.

Lots of food today…blergh. Saw a Legends show featuring Tina Turner, Madonna, and Michael Jackson (not the real ones of course, but the guy did Thriller so I guess zombie MJ might be possible…)

Tomorrow will be Bar Harbor or s as they say on the ship Baa Haaba.

  • Bar Harbor, Maine

    June 23, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 61 °F

So we had to clear customs in Bar Harbor since it was our first port after Bermuda. They also gave out tender tickets during the inspection. Our group was last so even though we had tickets for the third tender boat, there was no way we’d make it. By the time we found the end of the tender line it snaked through deck 4-9. So we did the same thing and went elsewhere to get away from all the nasty, angry, rude passengers. Sadly they were still there after an hour. But we got on a tender eventually. Bar Harbor was very quaint and we walked all over the place. My favorite still was ‘A Little Mad. Back on the ship we saw our last show, a vocalist who was okish. Then went to an extra performance in the lounge. Kyrie was upset as we didn’t let her know what we were doing. Called her with cookies. Packed up and went to bed early.Read more

  • Waiting and Musing…

    June 24, 2022 in the United States ⋅ ⛅ 64 °F

So as we wait for our flight, I thought we would share some of the questions that were overheard being asked on the cruise. We believe these are real people and not robots!

    1. Excuse me, will I get wet on my snorkelling excursion?

2.Do the elevators take you from the back to the front of the ship?

    3. Do the stairs here go up or down? (Please remember the stairs are stationary)

4.I ordered a club balcony suite and the only thing I can see now is a dirty parking lot!
To which the ever com service desk people replied-well ma’am, when we pull out of Port you’ll see water.

    5. How am I supposed to know if the photos that have been printed or mine if they don’t have my cabin number on them?
To which the cruise director suggested the they look in a mirror.

    6. Excuse me, does the staff sleep on the ship?
To which someone answered cheekily know they follow in either the helicopter or the submarine.

    7. One passenger called to complain that their microwave is not working. The staff later found out that the customer was shoving food into the cabin safe and pushing random buttons.

    8. One lady went to the cruise director nervous and concerned, asking “Do you think my face is too big for the mini facial?”

    9. One person asked if the water in the toilets was freshwater or salt water. And I’ll admit I never really thought about this until they ask that and now I kind of want to know.

    10. Do I have to get off of the ship for my excursion in Bermuda?

We actually found a hotel room with day hours so instead of waiting ten hours in the airport, we chilled in a suite in the Bostonian Hotel.

  • We Are HOME!

    June 25, 2022 in the United States ⋅ 🌙 75 °F

Dad picked us up from the airport with a whole cooler full of drinks and snacks! He’s also been attending to our two fur babies.

Exhaustion set in soon after they dropped us off at our house. Luckily our cats seem to have forgiven us. It was a lovely way to end such a fantastic trip.

To Everyone - I cannot express enough thanks for all our adventures, but do know I’m so grateful and love you all dearly. Until next time, bye bye Bermuda!
