    Day 36, Shibuya, Tokyo

    March 15, 2023 in Japan ⋅ 🌙 59 °F

It’s Mark, as Joy asked me to file this report. We spent today exploring a tiny fraction of the Shibuya district of Tokyo. It is dense with buildings and people. I logged 12,421 steps but feel like I only walked around a couple of blocks due the “dancing” one must do in these crowds. Highlights: a seven story mall devoted to cutting edge fashion design for teens, the line of folks waiting for famous sushi, our first Japanese vending machine, some of the best fried shrimp ever (aka tempura), going through 10 floors of an old fashioned department store (including gourmet fruit section), buying a Japan Rail pass, and doing the Shibuya Scramble at rush hour! Tomorrow our official small group tour starts at 7am, so we decided to refrain tonight from clubbing!Read more
