Day 47, Tokyo Transition

We bid goodbye to everyone in our group today after our guides graciously helped us locate our Airbnb, which is only about a 5-minute walk from our hotel. Our guides have been phenomenal in every way and the tour was A+++. As I think about our time here, I realize Japan is much less ‘foreign’ than I had imagined. I think a large part of that is the prevalence of English everywhere - signs, menus, train and subway stations. Plus lots of the people we have interacted with have some level of English-speaking ability, making it so much easier for us. And because they have been tourist-starved for several years, everyone seems excited for us to be here. Our Airbnb is modern and cozy (small). But of course everything isn’t easy - no English on the washing machine. Fortunately,our dear Japanese friend Mie has been on ‘standby’ to offer her help. 🌟 Mark and I were almost giddy tonight thinking about our next few days in Tokyo as we transition to being on our own.Baca selengkapnya
