Ericeira Arrival Day

Day 1 in Ericeira!

After an overnight flight from Toronto to Lisbon, a quick metro trip, and an hour long bus ride out I arrived in Ericeira! Too bad I arrived at 8:30am for my 3pm check-in 🙃

I knew that it would be a while from arrival to check-in but the weather decided to add some complications to my plans. I had thought I would be able to drop my bags and go explore the city for a while but it was absolutely pouring rain.. and not very warm to boot! So instead I opted to hang out in the covered patio (since all indoor seating at the hostel was taken) and finish my book. And then start a podcast. And then have a minor breakdown because I was freezing cold, had been awake for 32 hours and was just not feeling it.

Fortunately my room was ready not too long after 1pm, I had a hot shower and was feeling a little better. I then headed off to the grocery store during a short break in the rain to get some food for the night and some much needed water.

I still wasn't feeling 100% so it was a night to just stay in, watch some Netflix and get some rest so that hopefully I could tackle Saturday in a much better mood!Read more

Today's the day!

Finally time to present. After some chaotic last minute changes to my slides last night (as in... I redid my entire presentation in a brand new tool with a whole new layout and theme...) It's time to do my talk, One Size Does Not Fit All.

A morning full of great learning from Fiona Charles and Jenny Bramble down, it was my turn. The presentation flowed smoothly with a nice crowd of about 45-50 individuals. There were great questions and engagement from the audience and all in all, I would call this talk a success.

Very honoured to have had the opportunity to speak here at #AgileTD and I'm really hoping to be back again some day!Read more

Now, when most people think about conferences, especially industry conferences, you envision professional attire, serious business chats, and minimal chaos. Agile Testing Days laughs in the face of these types of conferences.

Agile has always been a come as you are, accepting community. But once a conference there is an event where you have the opportunity to come as something or someone very different from yourself; costume contest night.

This year's theme was "Fairytale". So of course, I took full advantage. The Little Dead Riding Hood costume was perfect for this theme and I chose to go all out. The dinner was great, the costumes were wonderful and abundant, and the fun music and dancing after dinner just topped it all off. I'm so happy to have been able to be part of the fun and dress up in such a fun and inclusive crowd 😄Read more
