Where in the world are we?

We are in the State of Sabah, one of two Malaysian states on the island of Borneo, the other being Sarawak. Yup, been there, too, just not on this trip.
We are staying where we always stay in Sabah: Shangri-la Rasa Ria Resort. It's about a 45-minute drive from Kota Kinabalu, the city we flew to from Penang.
