It is located on a canal; it has cherry trees beside it, so lots of lovely pink blossoms in the spring, and the Japan Alps behind it, so on a clear day, it is in a lovely setting. Part of the attraction is its architecture. It was designed by the same person who did the Glass Museum. It is built on a slight slope, so it is slightly cantilevered.
