Lavuna Coastal Path

The first stop of the day with the Lavuna Coastal Path! En route I had to stop for petrol (as the tank was almost empty!) and then it was just under an hours drive along the twisting pot hole'd roads of the North and North East Coast of the island.

Once I'd arrived it was a $30FJD entry fee (about £11) to walk the path. The route was 5km each way and reasonably flat! The only obstacles being a number of overflowing streams and rivers. So 5 times I had to take my shoes and socks off including 2 times I had to change into my swimming trunks, this was when crossing the forceful deep stream with a rope across to cling onto.

At the end of the path you're treated to the Wainibau Waterfall. As I reached the end point it began to rain quite heavy so I scarpered back the way I'd came with the enslaught from tje rain only lasting around 15 minutes.Read more
