Election Day in San Ignacio

Today it was local election day in San Ignacio where the people were turning out to election a new mayor! The streets were covered in flags, banners and slogans as people drove around in pick up trucks flying flags to support their candidate.

Many shops and local amenities were therefore closed and no alcohol could be sold until 6pm.

We went for a walk around the market, down the river and through the town, with a stop for French pastries on the way, before heading back to the hostel for some further trip planning whilst we waited for our shuttle.Read more
