Arriving at Basecamp

After almost 5 hours we arrived at basecamp, standing at 3,700m. Our initial view was purely of cloud although to our left we saw occasional glimpses of Volcan Fuego.

Fuego is an active volcano, with a few hundred eruptions a day of varying size. Volcan Acatenago where we would be staying is dormant but provided a great vantage point!Read more
