• Uyuni > Sucre

    June 15, 2024 in Bolivia ⋅ ☀️ 2 °C

Today was one of the few remaining long travel days, this time from Uyuni to Sucre! Our first bus departed at 10am and arrived into the town of Potosi just before 2pm. We were overjoyed to be arriving the 4,100m high town as we were all bursting to go to the loo as the bus had no such facilities.

We took a taxi to a different bus terminal in Potosi and were able to book onto the 3pm bus heading to Sucre. Our bus departed the terminal on time but didn't leave the town of Potosi itself until almost 4pm as it kept stopping on the side of the road to wait for more passengers. Eventually we rolled into Sucre at around 7pm as it became dark.

The buses were so bumpy that we 'clocked up' over 20,000 steps and climbed almost 300 flights apparently.

After dropping our bags at our hostel (which was nice) we headed out for a lovely Italian (£5.50 a dish as well!) which served the first rose I've seen in months!
