Thinking that the tide had turned on the weather front we decided today would be the day we get up and out ar a reasonable time to go up to see the big Jesus. However, as we dropped off our laundry we noticed it was a little cloudy once again.

Nevertheless we headed for the funicular to the top of the hill. However, one of the guys working there recommended we come back another time since we wouldn't be able to see anything from the top.

We therefore decided to pick up some pastries and head to Fluminense's old ground. We were confused at first as the ground is so old and small (but cool), but it turns out they now play there games at the gigantic Maracana.Read more
