National Mall

After the Capitol I wanted to cross the road to have a look at the National Library and Supreme Court but the police had cordoned it off for some reason so that would have to wait. Instead I moved on to head down the National Mall towards the Washington Monument (the giant obelisk). The Mall is flanked by tonnes of museums, grand buildings and the Botanical Gardens (which weren't up to much).
