Arriving in Montevideo

This morning we were up even earlier at 6:15am to take the 8am bus from Colonia to Uruguay's capital city of Montevideo! It was a comfortable three hour journey and we arrived to some light drizzle.

Our first non-touristy stop of the day was to the Uruguayan congressional building, and also to the nearby market for empanadas and pastries!

Our next stop was to this free 22 story lookout point over the city. We first had to go into what seemed to be some sort of council administrative centre and find the lifts going to the top.
