Working in Ambon

One month later…

In the last month Peter and I have worked for Maluku United. Our first plan was to teach at the university, but this didn’t work out. Now Peter mainly worked during the soccer trainings as ‘strength and conditioning’ coach. The goal of Maluku United is to create a third division soccer team with professional training. In addition to a professional soccer coach, students from the Netherlands come here to teach as part of their internship.

Maluku united doesn’t focus only on soccer. They also want to teach Indonesian university students to become swim coaches. The goal is to have swim coaches at every primary school. For now there aren’t any trained Indonesian swim coaches yet, so Geertrude worked together with the Dutch students to teach children how to swim.Read more
