Don't let the demilitarized part of DMZ fool you, this is one of the most heavily guarded borders in the world. The true demilitarized zone is the 4 km of land between North and South Korea which has been taken over by nature (while still riddled with landmines). Just outside of this zone are tanks, military bases, countless miles of barbed wire and yes, more land mines. Visits are only possible with bus tours, and we got to see a tunnel dug by the invading North and a look into North Korea from an observation point along the border.Read more
