    Wellington to Rotorua

    Long coach day to Rotorua, we stopped at Bulls for coffee, then on to the volcanic part of the North Island with stops at Lake Taupo - host to New Zealand’s Ironman & Huka Falls, both beautiful areas with a temperature of 23 degrees - very nice! Rotorua has a slight whiff of rotten eggs from the sulphur in the active volcano, which last erupted in 2015.
    We then went to a Māori evening which was brilliant fun, learning a few Māori traditions including the haka, traditional singing & dancing performance, followed by a traditional meal with duck, lamb & beef in the menu.    Read more
