• Banff Day 2 Bow Falls

    Sep 14–24 in Canada ☁️ 8 °C

Bow Falls is a wide, powerful rush of water tumbling 30 feet (9 metres) down the Bow River, right at the doorstep of downtown Banff. Framed beautifully by Mount Rundle, it’s easy to see why it famously shared the screen with Marilyn Monroe in the 1953 film The River of No Return.
Despite a bit of a drizzly day, the mountain scenery was stunning. We hit a couple of incredible viewing points around Banff National Park, including the striking Hoodoos and a fantastic vantage point of the iconic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel—which genuinely looks like Canada’s very own Hogwarts. Along the way, we even spotted some local wildlife: a busy red squirrel and a tiny chipmunk.
Afterward, we made a pit stop at the local IGA supermarket to grab some lunch and restock our supplies. The biggest win of the day? Finding TimTams and Whittaker's chocolate! Ian was absolutely thrilled to track down those legendary treats out here in the Rockies.
