• Noah's Place - Mt Ararat

    The Bible, Koran and Torah all tell the same story about Noah’s Ark, which supposedly settled on Mt Ararat as the 40-day flood subsided. We were beginning to think that the mountain itself had washed away as it wasn’t visible. On our last day in Armenia the clouds parted so we could finally glimpse this 5,137 metre historical landmark.
    Farewell Armenia - we are heading to the other side of Ararat, or as the Turk’s call it ‘Ağrı Dağı’. Thanks for the artistic tips on keeping a tidy and well-illustrated journal.
    Thanks for the new journal quills - wing feathers from a female Eurasian kestrel (or so our resident tour bird expert tells me). The penguin is showing signs of jealousy and likely to dob me into NZ Biosecurity.
    By the way, we later found that Laura's mother strings more than the odd bead.
