Ankara to Istanbul

After a leisurely cooked breakfast, we board the four-hour express service bound for Istanbul. An extremely comfortable train which, even at 260 kms per hour, hardly sways. Free Wi-Fi, so restfully seated with Turkish coffee delivered by trolley service, the Penguin and I draft another entry. Suddenly, the left-side window is filled with views of the Marmara Sea, busy with ocean freighters, reminding us that we are reaching a trip milestone - the Asian/ European continental divide.

Arriving at Sogutlucesme Station in Asian Istanbul, a short bus trip crossing the Bosporus delivers us to our Old Istanbul town hotel. We are now in Europe.Leer más
