Veliko Tarnovo

Veliko Tarnovo is such a contrast to Istanbul. A peaceful hamlet of houses, trickling down the hillside towards the river.
Our hotel a quiet, wooden haven with large rooms, comfortable beds and good home cooking. We enjoyed Bulgarian specialties – cold yoghurt soup (filled with spring onions and fresh herbs) and a pork/vegetable casserole encased in an omelette.Read more
