Well our journey starts tomorrow with a very early 4am start to get the car parked at 5am then onto Luton Airport for our 0750 flight to Tirana Albania.

1st Stop Hotel Destiny Tirana

Well arrived, fastest airport I have ever collected my bags from, they were off the belt b4 we came through passport control, Hotel Destiny and Spa looks lovely but we have arrived too early and our rooms are not ready, The rest of the day is free, hey our room is ready, The day is nearly done we have been up since 4am it's now 9pm. Had a walk around Tirana and like any capital city it's busy busy, we are on the main Rd into Tirana it's hectic noisy and the streets are dirty and full of litter and dog ends, Hotel is lovely, weather is g8 the tour starts tomorrow and think we are off to MontenegroRead more

DAY 2 MONTENEGRO

Well eventually got out of Tirana, traffic is worst I have seen in the world, they are obsessed with Mercedez Benz since Hitler gave one as a present to their president, followed closely by BMWs Our tour guide for today was an academic, historian and a professor of languages, his talks were too in depth for most people to follow, especially as most of our group are yanks, so talking about the byzantine and Otterman empires went over all our heads. We went to a mausoleum in Lechz ( pronounced Leisure) someone called Skanderbeg big cheese in his day like Alexander the great. We then went onto Ulcinj were we had lunch, an absolutely stunning town with a lovely beach and old town and are now in a lovely hotel in a town called Bar, tomorrow onto Budva and Kotor, tomorrow's hotel has a swimming pool so jayne will be happy now for the picks and videos max 20 phots and 2 videos o. DAY 3 BUDVA AND KOTOR

Well another beautiful day, off we go. Spent a couple of hours in Budva, beautiful city and holiday resort, lots of nice hotels and apartment's and lots of new hotels being built. We then went on to Kotor which is absolutely stunning, it gets about 3 cruise ships a day in which can make it a little crowded, it looks a bit like Norway and the fjords, look at the pictures, we then went for a little boat trip out to some cute islands about 5 minutes out from the resort of can't name or pronounce the place,b4 Coming back to our hotel the Spendido, which on the outside looks charming, is not up to the standard of the other hotels we have stayed at, and the swimming pool had been emptied much to Jaynes disappointment. DAY 5 MOSTAR

Later start today we came to Mostar via a lovely village called BILAJ. Fabulous fast flowing river called BAM see pics. We were very close to the Geniside of Strebrenitsa were the Serbs ethnically cleansed 8300 Muslims. We went to the Genocide museum in Mostar were no punches were pulled, they were worst than the Nazis. We went to the famous Mostar Bridge which had been standing for 400 years b4 the Serbs bombed it. Fortunately they managed to rebuild it at a cost of 15 Million quid with 85% of the original stone recovered from the river bed below. We are now in the Bristol hotel for 2 nights, so no packing tomorrow as we have a 2 hour journey to SarejevoRead more

DAY 5 SARAJEVO

Well a lot of coach time today, we went from Mostar to Sarajevo a 2 and a half hour journey through the most stunning scenery, but of course that meant the same amount of time back. We visited the tunnel of hope, which the sareyavans built under the airport runway to ferry goods in and out of the capital, without the Serbs who totally surrounded them on high ground taking pot shots at them. The history of this region and the war that took place almost puts WW2 and the nazis in the shade, when you hear first hand what actually happened. We went the genocide museum and saw and heard things you will not see on social media. Well we are back were we started at the Destiny. And have hit the jackpot with a beautiful 2 bedroom room, if all the hotels had been like this it would have been a 10 out of 10. Said goodbye to our group mainly canadian and yanks, some interesting and funny lovable characters only one arsehole and she was a right weirdo. We ended our day in Tirana central what a place with incredible communist history. Our guide and his knowledge of this country it's history and troubles and strife was encyclopedic.
